PSA underscores data awareness at campus forum in Sibugay

BUUG, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Zamboanga Sibugay emphasized the importance of accurate data in decision-making through a Data and Information Dissemination Forum at Mindanao State University – Buug Campus, gathering around 100 participants to enhance awareness of PSA’s programs and services.

Jehada Elias, director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, highlighted the role of knowledge-sharing and data in nation-building, especially in supporting government programs.

“Knowledge sharing and data play a crucial role in nation-building, empowering government programs to create meaningful and lasting impact,” he said.

During the forum, PSA discussed the latest census and survey results, emphasizing their role in improving public services, guiding policy decisions, and providing reliable data for economic and social development.

They also outlined the process of acquiring civil registry documents and emphasized the importance of accurate records in ensuring legal identity, accessing government services, and facilitating transactions for individuals and the community.

PSA further presented the province’s inflation report and the benefits of the national ID system, providing insights into Zamboanga Sibugay’s economic landscape and its impact on both the public and government operations.

Emerald Gaffud, Statistical Specialist II, emphasized how access to accurate data empowers students in research, decision-making, and active participation in national development.

“Accurate data equips students with essential knowledge for research, informed decisions, and active engagement in nation-building,” Gaffud stated.
