PSA urges public’s honesty in answering POPCEN-CBMS

ILOILO CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) calls on everyone to be vigilant and honest in answering the 2024 Census of Population-Community Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS).

The data collected will update the country’s population inventory and the list of beneficiaries of social protection initiatives.

It will also help in targeting households for planning, formulation, and implementation of poverty alleviation programs.

PSA 6 Supervising Statistical Specialist Ma. Goretti Novilla emphasized the importance of this initiative during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, stating, “Ang CBMS ay inisyatibo sang aton gobyerno nga ginapangunahan sang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) agud mangin mas epektibo ang sabat sang gobyerno sa pagpahagan-hagan sang kaimulon, kag masiguro ang inclusive-development sang aton ekonomiya.

(The CBMS is an initiative of our government led by the PSA to make the government’s response to poverty alleviation more effective and to ensure the inclusive development of our economy).

Further, if questions are unclear, do not hesitate to ask enumerators for clarification.

She also calls respondents to be vigilant and not provide for private information.

“Indi maghatag sang pribado nga impormasyon pareho sang mga numero sang bank account kag mga PIN, tandaan nga ang mga enumerators sang PSA wala nagakuha sini nga impormasyon,” Novilla said.

(Do not provide private information such as bank account numbers and PINs, as PSA enumerators will not ask for this information.)

Collected information during the survey is protected under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and related regulations.

To identify official enumerators, check for the PSA logo on their uniforms and their official PSA ID.
