QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is warning the public against dubious offers of cash assistance for Filipinos with National IDs circulating on social media.
In a statement, the PSA underscored that such activities are not authorized or organized by the agency.
The agency further clarified that they “do not provide any cash assistance or financial incentives.”
The PSA also reminded the public that registration to the National ID system, which will provide valid proof of identity to Filipinos, is free and does not include monetary compensation or financial assistance.
The public should also refrain from engaging with individuals or groups behind these posts and to avoid filling out online forms to apply for the cash assistance offered.
Moreover, the PSA encouraged the public to report to the official channels of the National ID: send a message or tag on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PSAPhilSysOfficial, email at [email protected], or call hotline 1388. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
