TACLOBAN CITY — Urbano P. Pino Jr., representative of the Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) – Leyte, was declared champion in the 3rd PSA Quiz Bee Regional Championship held at the Summit Hotel, Tacloban City on September 22.
Pino Jr. is a 22-year-old Instructor I at the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) in Tacloban City. He scored 41 out of 60 points after three rounds of multiple-choice questions.
Meanwhile, Emma Q. Tenedero of PSC-Samar landed second place after scoring 38 points, while Jay Keenson C. Acebuche of PSC–Northern Samar landed third place with 32 points.
Each winner received a plaque of recognition and a token. The regional champion will represent Eastern Visayas in the National Finals which will be held in Metro Manila on October 5, 2023.
The PSA Quiz Bee aims to promote awareness and appreciation of the importance of statistics, instill awareness of the mandates of PSA, and familiarize the concepts and definitions adopted in the generation of official statistics, Civil Registration Services, and Philippine Identification System.
