Local government units and the Maven Center for Learning and Entrepreneurship supported the payouts, which took place on October 2, 11, 14, 17, and 18, 2024, across Barangays Balulang, Gusa, Tablon, and Lumbia in the First Congressional District.

Mondenedo, a 52-year-old PWD beneficiary and fire victim, expressed her gratitude for the temporary wage, describing it as significant financial assistance to her family, particularly since her husband’s stroke left them in dire need.
She was surprised to receive the temporary wage, but she was deeply grateful as it will help with their family’s basic necessities, including rice and school uniforms for their child.
Likewise, Putian, who suffers from congenital cataract, shared that the program had a positive impact in her life, particularly in financially covering her bills and daily needs. She stated that without the assistance, it would have been nearly impossible to provide for her family due to her visual impairment limiting her ability to work.
DOLE-10 Cagayan de Oro City Field Office Chief Emmanuel G. Toledo said the beneficiaries were displaced workers, persons with disabilities (PWDs), informal sector laborers, and vulnerable individuals affected by economic challenges, specifically the recent fire incident, who were assigned to 10 days’ community work at their respective barangays, such as cleaning and sanitation drives, urban gardening, and maintaining public spaces.

Not only did the beneficiaries receive financial support worth P4,380 each, but they also contributed to enhancing the overall living conditions in their respective barangays.
TUPAD provides temporary employment while also offering hope and support for beneficiaries and their families. By meeting their immediate financial needs and enhancing their overall well-being, TUPAD allows them to contribute to their communities and work toward a more stable future for their households.
