QC public library celebrates 75th anniversary with book fair

QUEZON CITY (PIA) — In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL), a five-day book fair kicked off on Monday, August 7, 2023.

The event was inaugurated by Mayor Josefina Belmonte, who led a simple ribbon cutting ceremony, accompanied by Councilor Charm Ferrer, Councilor Doc Ellie Juan, and the Officer-in-Charge of QCPL, Ms. Mariza G. Chico, along with librarians and staff members of the library.

Three prominent publishers, Lampara, Vibal, and WS Pacific Publications, were invited to showcase selected books.

Located in the hallway leading to the City Hall lobby, the fair will be open from August 7th to 11th, from 8 am to 5 pm.

The public is cordially invited to attend and explore the wide range of books and educational materials on display. The aim is to encourage a reading culture and make Quezon City a city that embraces literature and knowledge. This event is a testament to the commitment of the QCPL to promoting literacy and lifelong learning among its residents.

The QCPL has been a cornerstone of education and culture in Quezon City since its establishment in 1948.
