CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA)- -The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regional office said Quirino province got a perfect score of 10 in the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) utilization.
The results were revealed in a recent conference of local officials.
DILG Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon acknowledged the hard work of the provincial government in sustaining the record as a national passer of the SGLG.
The director urged the provincial government to sustain the performance, make the necessary preparations and focus on the crucial indicators, especially those that will potentially be included in the 2025 assessment.
Considering the achievement as a milestone, De Leon reinforced the need for continuous and effective implementation of different projects, particularly those derived from the incentive fund as she committed the Department’s continuous support to local government units in their mandate of carrying out good governance.
During the conference, Local Government Operations Officer Carmelle F. Gayagoy and Marie Christine A. Carpio-Taguiam, statistician of the DILG Regional Office presented the result of last year’s assessment.
The document displayed the overall performance of the provincial government of Quirino across all governance areas of SGLG, namely: Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business- Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, and Youth development.
Gayagoy and Taguiam also presented the potential indicators for this year’s assessment to serve as a guide for their preparation. (OTB/TCB/PIA Quirino)
