Quirino province to benefit from government’s RCSP Serbisyo Caravan

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) – – Remote communities of Maddela, Quirino are expected to benefit from the government’s Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) as three of its barangays were targeted for the conduct of a Serbisyo Caravan.

The RCSP is a convergence mechanism for local governments, particularly at the barangay level, for the identification of issues and needed government interventions.

Based on the results of Ugnayan sa Barangay or Community dialogue on April 24-26, 2024 conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), some government programs, projects, and activities for the three barangays were initially identified.

For Barangay Manglad, a medical check-up will be conducted and the residents will be provided livelihood training such as food processing, tailoring, skirting, soap making, and computer literacy. Some will also be given medical equipment, medicines, vitamins, wheelchairs, hearing devices, motorized boats, and farm machinery, among others.

For San Pedro, the residents will be provided with medical equipment such as oxygen, nebulizer, hearing aid, free medical check-ups, educational assistance and scholarship programs for students and out-of-school, monthly allowance for persons with disabilities, and others.

On the other hand, Villa Agullana will be provided with municipal-hired health workers;  livelihood and skills training for tailoring, food processing, and grafting,  financial support for cultural preservation; medical checkups, medical assistance & equipment, fruit-bearing trees, gardening tools, monthly allowance for senior citizens and PWDs, among others.

The RCSP Caravan Team headed by Governor Dax Cua recently conducted a meeting to discuss arrangements and other preparatory activities. The team is also in the process of coordinating with various national government agencies for other programs and services for the three barangays during the caravan.

DILG Provincial Director Karen Joy C. Pamlico-Castro thanked the RCSP team for discussions, inputs, recommendations, and commitments stressing that these were noted and appreciated.

“We therefore seek for passion and drive of everyone as we work hand-in-hand in the implementation of the different activities for the RCSP. The steadfast commitment and collaborative effort of the different national government agencies, LGUs, and other stakeholders make possible the meaningful implementation of the RCSP,” Pablico-Castro said.

She further said with the implementation of the program and the cooperation of all concerned agencies and individuals, the government will be able to provide for the needs of the people and bring government services closer to the communities. (OTB/TCB/PIA QUIRINO)
