Quirino’s inflation rate further slows down in September says PSA

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA)- -The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quirino recently reported that inflation in the province eased further to 1.6 percent last September from  4.3 percent in August this year.

In a press conference, PSA Chief Statistical Specialist Cherry Grace D. Agustin said the average inflation rate from January to September is 4.1 percent.

“Contributing to the downtrend in the overall inflation rate of the province was the decrease of prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages at 0.5 percent with 81 percent share to the overall deceleration of inflation in the province,” Agustin said.

Agustin added the second contributory factor in the decrease in the inflation rate is the decrease of prices of transport commodity groups at -6.8 percent with 15.7 percent share and Education Services at 1.4 percent share.

“For the overall inflation rate this September, recreation, sports, and Culture such as pets, products for pets, stationery and drawing materials, school supplies, games, toys, and hobbies,” Agustin further said.
