RC Tuguegarao Rainbow conducts ‘Rainbow Magic’

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA)—The Rotary Club of Tuguegarao Rainbow celebrated the new Rotary Year 2024-2025 with children with special needs in coordination with the Tuguegarao City Persons with Disabilities Office.

As a kick-off activity, the club conducted “Rainbow Magic,” a magic entertainment and gift-giving activity for 100 children with special needs, where they were given school supplies and treated with nutritious snacks.

President Ric T. de Castro said the activity marks the first day of the Rotary year 2024-2025, and just like his predecessors, they celebrate their kick-off project with these physically challenged children.

“We want to continue our mission and celebrate the Magic of Rotary that children with special needs bring into our lives,” de Castro said.

He said their activities and projects reflect Rotary’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, which goes beyond words.

“Children like you have unique talents, perspectives, and abilities that enrich our Rotary family. By involving them in our projects and gatherings, we not only provide them with opportunities for growth and joy but also learn valuable lessons in resilience, empathy, and unconditional love,” he added.

The club also recognized and celebrated the achievements of these children, and they also wanted to showcase them to share their stories and successes.

“By embracing the Magic of Rotary that these wonderful children bring, we strengthen our bonds and enrich the fabric of our Rotary community. Let us continue to lead with compassion, kindness, and a resolute dedication to ensuring that every child feels valued, seen, and heard,” President de Castro said.

“Together, we can create a world where every child, regardless of their abilities, can experience the joy and Magic of Rotary,” de Castro added.

The program is also part of the celebration of Rotary International’s Maternal and Child Health Month in July.

Meanwhile, Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que also graced the event and expressed her gratitude to the Rotary Club of Tuguegarao Rainbow, who sees that these children’s syndrome has never been a barrier. (OTB/ADS/PIA Region 2)
