The Regional Development Council (RDC) VIII, through the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on Planning and Budgeting, conducted the 3rd Eastern Visayas Regional Planning Forum (RPF) on Nov. 6-7, 2023, via Zoom.
The two-day forum aimed to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of the national-regional budget process and underscore the significance of a robust alignment of budget priorities with development thrusts.
The activity is seen to improve further implementing agencies’ end-user capacities in proposing responsive and implementation-ready proposals, especially in time for Fiscal Year 2025.
The RPF featured four sessions where various experts discuss topics that ranged from investment programming mechanisms to budget proposal preparation techniques.
Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman and National Economic and Development Authority Undersecretary Carlos Bernado O. Abad Santos delivered messages of support and provided potential directions for enhanced and harmonized development-oriented investment programming.
More than 300 participants from national government agencies, state universities and colleges, local government units, congressional districts and party lists, and RDC VIII private sector representatives attended the activity. (Atty. Richo Lodevico/NEDA VIII)
