PALO, Leyte — The Regional Development Council VIII (RDC VIII) has endorsed additional Tier II priority programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) of eight regional government agencies and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) during its 2nd Quarter Meeting in Ormoc City on June 26.
The additional proposed PPAs are from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC), Philippine Science High School – Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC), Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Leyte Normal University (LNU), Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Said PPAs were not endorsed during the Council’s 1st Quarter Meeting earlier this year as the Council enacted a more stringent approach to ensure that only implementation-ready PPAs were submitted to the agency’s national offices and included in the National Expenditure Program (NEP).
The endorsement of the additional projects, amounting to P7.62 billion, resulted from the requests for reconsideration from several agencies and SUCs, as well as their subsequent compliance with the required documents for implementation-readiness.
The endorsed PPAs will be submitted to the agency central offices (ACOs) for possible inclusion in the FY 2025 NEP. (Knulp Aseo, NEDA VIII)
