LANAO DEL NORTE (PIA)– Moving towards modernization, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte has successfully transitioned business name registration (BNR) for single proprietors to an entirely online platform, effective since August 2023.
With this innovation, single proprietors can easily process and complete their registration through the BNR system at https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph/registration.
“Our BNR process is now fully accessible online. This move will further promote convenience and efficiency in the registration process of our micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as it will cut down the waiting time of walk-in clients,” Provincial Director Jane Marie L. Tabucan said.
DTI Lanao del Norte is actively encouraging local Business Permits and Licensing Offices (BPLO) across the province to inform businesses about the fully digitalized BNR process. Notably, this shift eliminates the need for in-person processing through a teller from DTI, setting the stage for the anticipated Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) 2024.

Empowering single proprietors with a robust internet connection and a printer, the online system enables them to seamlessly process and pay for business name registration. This applies to new registrations, renewals, or certifications, all from the comfort of their offices or homes.
Statistics as of October 10, 2023, reveal that 3,468 local businesses in Lanao del Norte have successfully embraced the online BNRS System.
The introduction of BNRS Next Gen, a website facilitating end-to-end business name registration for single proprietors, aligns seamlessly with Republic Act No. 11032, known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
