CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) — Residents of the remote Barangay of La Paz in Cabatuan, Isabela, are benefiting from a newly-completed P10.1 million farm-to-market road under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program.
The road project, which was inaugurated recently, was formally turned over to the local government by DSWD 2 Regional Director Lucia Alan.
During the ceremony, Director Alan expressed her appreciation for the cooperation of the local government unit (LGU) in the successful implementation of the project.
She emphasized that the new road would significantly improve the transportation of agricultural products, shorten travel time to the town center, and enhance the overall economic activity in the area.
La Paz Punong Barangay Willy Galindez also thanked the DSWD and LGU Cabatuan for choosing his barangay as the site for the farm-to-market road project.
He highlighted how the concrete road would ease the movement of goods and improve access to essential services for the residents.
