TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — The Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center (PLRC) recently hosted a research forum aimed at streamlining the province’s research agenda, fostering innovation, and promoting inclusive development across Cagayan.
Provincial Librarian Michael Pinto said the core objective of the forum is to identify and explore new opportunities for research collaboration, enhance complementary efforts, and encourage the integration of various sectors in advancing research initiatives.
Dr. Antonio Tamayao, president of Minattura na Cagayan, stressed the forum’s crucial role in examining and aligning the research agenda of different government institutions.
He emphasized that fostering strong partnerships and collaboration among stakeholders is key to driving research topics forward and ensuring their success.
“This forum is not just about sharing knowledge; it is about creating lasting partnerships and fostering a culture of collaboration. We aim to establish inter-agency linkages that will promote inclusive, multidisciplinary, and integrated research and innovation efforts across Cagayan,” he said.
Atty. Mabel Mamba, a representative of the provincial government of Cagayan, highlighted the significant role that technical research plays in program implementation.
According to Mamba, research-driven solutions are essential to local development and economic growth.
“The provincial government is fully committed to supporting a research agenda that contributes to the sustainable development of Cagayan. We recognize that research is the foundation for informed decisions and strategic actions,” Mamba stated.
Throughout the forum, various government agencies presented their respective research agenda, which span a wide array of sectors, including education, social security, economic development, infrastructure, and culture. The presentations underscored the diverse and far-reaching impact that research and innovation can have on the province’s progress and future growth.
