ZAMBOANGA CITY (PIA) — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) continues in its mission to create ICT-enabled jobs in socio-economically disadvantaged areas of the country through the Digital Jobs Philippines program, focusing on areas where there is a high population but low employment due to a lack of investors.
“Our commitment remains steadfast in leveraging ICT as a catalyst for sustainable growth and inclusive development in the Philippine countryside,” said ICT Undersecretary Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue.
DICT, through the RISE summit and with the adoption of the Connect, Harness, Innovative, and Protect (CHIP) conceptual framework in Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, is accelerating the digital readiness of the country in the new normal and strengthening the ICT industry in the countryside.
