ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Romblon has achieved the second-highest flu vaccine utilization rate in the MIMAROPA region, reaching 107.28 percent, placing the province just behind Puerto Princesa City with a 109 percent utilization rate.

The successful flu vaccination drive was conducted in coordination with all health facilities across the province, including rural health centers. a press release from PHO Romblon said.

The Department of Health MIMAROPA allocated 16,000 vaccine doses for senior citizens and selected government workers in the province. However, the PHO successfully administered flu vaccines to 17,165 individuals, including 6,323 senior citizens, 2,595 health workers, and 8,247 non-seniors, some of whom are government employees.

The vaccination campaign began in January 2025 and aimed to administer flu vaccines to various offices and institutions throughout Romblon.

The initiative aligns with the health priorities of DOH, emphasizing health promotion and preventive care for all Romblomanons.

To ensure accessibility, flu vaccines have been allocated to all 17 health centers in the province, allowing residents to avail themselves of the vaccine easily.
