ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry recognized Roxas City for its outstanding creative proposal at the 2024 Lunsod Lunsad Ceremonial Awarding held at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City earlier this month.
The Lunsod Lunsad Project, an initiative aimed at harnessing the potential of creative sectors to drive socio-economic growth in local communities, saw participation from cities nationwide.
Roxas City is among the 10 cities awarded in Western Visayas including Bacolod City, Bago City, Cadiz City, Iloilo City, Kabankalan City, La Carlota City, Sipalay City, San Carlos City and Victorias City.
“It is with great pride to announce that Roxas City is one of the 10 cities in Western Visayas recognized by DTI because of our outstanding creative proposal for the 2024 Lunsod Lunsad Award,” said Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas in Hiligaynon in a social media post.
The city’s proposal is titled “Lunsod Lunsad Ilawod Illustrated Children’s Book Series.”
It is a five original Capiznon tales for children by five Capiznon writers and illustrators.
Roxas City tourism officer Dr. Bryan Mari Argos represented Dadivas in receiving the award.
These cities were recognized for their innovative proposals that best utilize their creative assets and resources for socio-economic growth and cultural reinvigoration.
As part of the award, they will receive funding and technical support from the DTI to implement their proposed projects. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
