RPMC commends Kadaclan-CIS project in Barlig

BONTOC, Mountain Province(PIA) — The Cordillera Regional Project Monitoring Committee(RPMC)- Inspectorate Team commended the ongoing Kadaclan Community Irrigation System  project in  the municipality  Barlig for its ahead of schedule implementation.

Funded by the National Irrigation Administration(NIA) through  its Small Irrigation Projects, the irrigation  project which is scheduled for completion on February 26,2024 yielded a positive slippage of 28.94 for its 83.98 percent  actual accomplishment, as of October 16, 2023.

RPMC Inspectorate Team 1 Leader Arnel Cabanisas, private sector representative from the Filipino-Japanese Foundation of North Luzon, cited the reasons  for the fast implementation of the project.

“We have seen good practices for this project. The  project implementation is ahead of schedule. We have seen good workmanship. The labor they tapped is a women’s organization, so there is no shortage of labor. The project has a good management, actually,” he said.

National Economic and Development Authority-Cordillera  Regional Director Susan Sumbeling, the  RPMC Chairperson,  also commended the project implementers  noting that outcome of the projects can be credited to  good monitoring practices.

“Even if the area is far, they have a good monitoring practice. Because if the projects are not being monitored, the work will not be great. Thank you so much NIA, good work,” she said.

Aside from the Kadaclan CIS, among the projects inspected  on October 16 and 17, 2023 are  the Completion of Seven Storey Multipurpose Technology Cum Center for Mathematics and Computing Sciences-Building-Bontoc Campus and  Construction of Academic Building for Criminology Phase II-Faliling of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic  College;   Construction of Betwagan Bridge in Sadanga; and  Improvement of Besao-Nakawang and Tadian-Mabalite Farm to Market Road (Repacked Segment 2-Sta 413+180-417+334).
