RSU inks partnership with Philippine Red Cross to boost volunteerism

ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — Romblon State University (RSU) and the Philippine Red Cross Romblon Chapter recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement to establish the Red Cross Council in the university to promote humanitarian values, volunteerism, and culture of safety and health which could enhance the development of the return service system.

In a press release, RSU said that both parties agreed to train teachers and students on essential life support and first aid including voluntary activities and programs on all RSU campuses.

The Philippine Red Cross Romblon Chapter will also provide technical assistance in life-saving or related activities. They will also establish Red Cross 143 team on campus.

“The partnership also encourages voluntary blood donation, enrollment of students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel in PRC, and the accident assistance benefit program,” according to the press release.
