CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) – Sitio Bancal Poblacion San Remigio Farmers & Irrigators Association Inc. (SIBAPOSFRIA) held its recent 10th Annual General Assembly at the newly-secured Irrigators Association (IA) office.

SIBAPOSFRIA has been working tirelessly since its establishment in 2015 to secure a permanent office space.

“Their efforts and hard work led to the successful purchase of a lot for the construction of their office although it is still unfinished,” said IA president, retired Police Master Sgt. Leo Edaño.

Guided by Leilani E. Batumalake, the Irrigators’ Development Officer of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the association continues to strengthen its organizational and operational capacity to better serve its members.

The association is a beneficiary of the National Irrigation Authority Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office (NIA -BSCIMO) Bogo Pump Irrigation System in Cebu.

San Remigio Mayor Alfonso Pestolante pledged a financial assistance of P100,000 to support the completion of the building.

“Daghang salamat sa tanang opisyales sa kahugpungan nga gipangulohan ni Mr. Leo Edaño ug sa tanang mga miyembro sa SIBAPOSFRIA sa inyong kakugi ug dedikasyon,” said Pestolante.

(Thank you very much to all the officials of the association led by Mr. Leo Edaño and to all the members of SIBAPOSFRIA in your hard work and dedication.)

With this financial aid, the association is optimistic about completing the IA office, further solidifying its role in empowering local farmers and ensuring sustainable irrigation development in San Remigio. (HFG/PIA7 with reports from NIA)
