MANILA, (PIA) — Mayor Jeannie Sandoval delivered her 2024 Accomplishment Report on Monday at the Malabon Sports Complex, showcasing the city’s progress in social services, health, infrastructure, disaster preparedness, and education aimed at improving the quality of life for Malabuenos.

Nakaahon na at magpapatuloy pa,” Sandoval said, underscoring the city’s successes achieved through unity and collective effort.

Ang ating mga naging tagumpay noong nakaraang taon ay ating nakamit dahil sa ating pagkakaisa,” she added, urging residents to continue their collaborative spirit into 2025.

Expanded Social Services

In her report, Sandoval announced that over 84,000 residents benefited from the Malabon Ahon Blue Card (MABC) program, which disbursed a total of P205,568,500 in financial aid, a significant increase from the previous year’s P142,802,500.

The program aims to enhance the equitable distribution of financial support and strengthen the local economy.

Additionally, the MABC has provided burial assistance to 433 families and hospitalization aid to 272 beneficiaries since its launch in July 2024.

Sandoval noted the partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which helped 750 individuals receive P20,000 in aid and food assistance.

Commitment to Education and Employment

Highlighting her commitment to education, Sandoval revealed that 6,026 students received scholarship grants, while around 500 students participated in employment programs designed to guide their career choices.

The city also hosted Mega Job Fairs that connected 307 job seekers with 17,108 job openings.

In health services, Mayor Jeannie reported that the local government, through Malasakit Centers, provided approximately P15.2 million in financial aid to 22,000 residents and distributed 200,000 free medicines.

Disaster Preparedness and Infrastructure Development

Sandoval also emphasized the city’s disaster preparedness initiatives, including the distribution of 15,626 relief packs during Typhoon Carina and the inauguration of a new Command and Control Center to enhance emergency response capabilities.

The city has also undertaken infrastructure projects in partnership with the Development Bank of the Philippines, including a Multi-Purpose Building and a Mid-rise Housing Project that will provide 220 housing units.

Looking ahead, Mayor Jeannie pledged to expand all programs to benefit more Malabuenos.
