CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The City Government of Santiago assured its preparedness to host the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) meet in 2025.
It will be the first time the city government to host the regional event with the establishment of their nearly completed Santiago Sports Arena.
City Mayor Alyssa Sheena Tan said the Department of Education Region 2 officials met recently with the city government and discussed the preparations for hosting the 2025 CAVRAA.
The arena is a state-of-the-art sports facility with a 4,000-seat capacity oval, a track and field facility, an Olympic-size swimming pool, enough shower rooms, a people’s plaza, sports courts, and a wide parking area.
“The Santiago City Sports Complex will be ready and fully equipped for the CAVRAA Meet, regardless of the challenges,” Tan said.
Tan said the city officials have overseen extensive coordination across various city departments to ensure a superb experience for visiting delegations during the conduct of CAVRAA in April 2025.
She said that the city government is closely collaboration with DepEd – Santiago City to ensure the successful hosting of this year’s CAVRAA assuring that various delegations of the event would be memorable. (MGE/PIA Isabela)
