Search for Outstanding Volunteers is on

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — An annual quest to celebrate unsung heroes in the Philippines officially kicked off as the Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) was launched at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Auditorium in Quezon City over the weekend.

PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James Gawe encouraged individuals to draw inspiration from the profound impact of volunteerism, emphasizing its enduring power to effect positive change in society.

Expressing gratitude, Gawe also commended PIA and all supporters for their continuous acknowledgment of the tireless efforts of unsung heroes.

Recognizing volunteers as the lifeblood of society, PIA Director-General Jose A. Torres, Jr. lauded their selfless contributions, emphasizing their immeasurable impact on communities.

Torres praised the services of volunteers who give tirelessly without expecting anything in return, urging all to perpetuate acts of kindness that promote a more empathetic and inclusive society.

In a video message, Civil Service Chairperson Atty. Karlo Alexei Nograles extended his greetings to the committee overseeing this year’s search, highlighting the pivotal role of volunteers as agents of positive change and essential partners in the nation’s journey towards a brighter tomorrow.

Nograles stressed the significance of nurturing a culture of compassion and sharing, stressing the importance of leaving no one behind in fostering a harmonious society.

Nograles also underlined volunteerism as a universal language that transcends boundaries, forging connections among individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life.

The message echoed sentiments of unity and solidarity in the shared commitment to serving others.
