CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)- The Securities and Exchange Commission – Cagayan de Oro Extension Office (SEC-CDOEO) signed a partnership with the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber) on November 9, 2023, at the Oro Business Development Centre, this city.
The signing was attended by SEC Director, Lawyer Frederick A. Enopia; SEC Supervising Administrative Officer, Jesher M. Radaza; Oro Chamber President, Raymundo Talimio, Jr., and Oro Chamber Vice President for Business Support Organization Sector, Dr. Pio D. Baconga.
Lawyer Enopia expressed his appreciation to Oro Chamber for warmly accepting the partnership to advance the businesses in the city. It aims to capacitate its members by establishing networks to expedite the cascading of the Commission’s updates and notices relevant to the business entities in the City which are duly registered with the SEC.
Enopia further mentioned the need to ensure the business chambers are equipped with the abrupt changes in the digitalization services offered by the Commission on reportorial submissions and new company registrations.
‘Through this partnership, the Oro Chamber will have the invaluable opportunity to work closely with the SEC in advocating for policies and regulations that foster a conducive business environment. We will be able to provide our insights and expertise to shape regulatory frameworks that align with the needs and aspirations of our members and the larger business community,” Talimio said in his acceptance message.
The SEC and Oro Chamber worked closely on the Capital Formation Roadshow on April 14, 2023, by assisting in gathering the business entities in the City who participated in the roadshow. Hence, this partnership aims to strengthen the ties between the SEC and Oro Chamber as the SEC continues to introduce capital formation opportunities and investment platforms for the business sectors and individuals.
Both parties look forward to achieving activities that promote the vast growth of the city’s business industry, including its neighboring cities and provinces. (SEC CDOEO/PIA-10)
