Serbisyo-InfoCar brings aid, ease to villagers in Tagoloan Lanao Norte

TAGOLOAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA) – Residents of Barangay Kaizar and Darimbang in Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte received health and social services from various government agencies during the Bagong Pilipinas Information and Serbisyo Caravan, led by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)–10 and the Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao, chaired by Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC)-10 promoted good nutrition, offering nutrition assessments, education, and counseling.

“The National Nutrition Council is an office under the Department of Health. We provide all nutrition education and counseling. For those who have diabetes or hypertension, we provide counseling and meal plans. We are also giving IEC and flyers, and all of the training, information dissemination, and so on,” said NNC-10 Project Development Officer Patrick John Gonzalez.

As the caravan continued, health and wellness remained a key focus, highlighted through the 50th Nutrition Month celebration and the DOH’s inclusive motto, “In the new Philippines, everyone’s life is important.”

Aligned with these values, DepEd-10 and the Inner Wheel Club supported Kaziar Elementary School by providing slippers, school kits, and a 55-inch television.

“Today’s Information and Serbisyo Caravan brings five menus to Kaizar. To support integrating ITP (Individual Transition Plan) in classrooms, we provide a 55-inch smart TV and a laptop to Kaizar Integrated School. This equipment allows teachers to enhance their lessons, even with the area’s limited electricity. Thanks to solar power. This marks the beginning of ITP in Kaizar classrooms, and we hope to expand this support to other schools in Tagoloan,” shared Jayvy Vegafria, DepEd Lanao del Norte Schools Division Assistant Superintendent.

Together with NNC-10 and DepEd–Lanao Norte, the Provincial Health Office and Department of Health (DOH)-10, participated by providing medical and dental services while distributing medicines. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office organized a feeding program for the village learners.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 also offered consultations on social pensions for senior citizens, provided information on their programs, and distributed IEC materials, umbrellas, and brochures detailing DSWD services.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation offered services like member registration, data updating, and issuing membership IDs. Meanwhile, the Commission on Population, represented by the Rural Health Unit of Tagoloan, provided family planning counseling.

Also, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos conducted an information campaign on services and programs, along with providing legal assistance. (IJBD/PIA-10)
