MABUHAY, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Zamboanga Sibugay has recently partnered with the Kauswagan Integrated Farmers Services Association (KIFSA) granting PhP500,000 to enhance the production and marketing of their signature spicy vinegar, locally known as “Sinamak.”

Through this collaboration, KIFSA will receive infrastructure support to renovate its processing center and improve product quality.

This initiative is part of DAR’s commitment to supporting Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) beyond land distribution by strengthening local enterprises.

Rolando Libetario Jr., Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II of DAR Zamboanga Sibugay, highlighted the importance of empowering farmers through enterprise development.

“We want our ARBs to have the resources and support to maximize their productivity. Through partnerships like this, we help them improve their products, expand their market reach, and uplift their livelihoods,” Libetario said.

DAR seeks to improve farmers’ livelihoods and promote sustainable economic growth through financial assistance and capacity-building programs.

The funding will help KIFSA boost its production and create better opportunities for its members. The project also includes training, trade fair participation, and market expansion support.

The local government of Mabuhay pledged continued support for livelihood programs, emphasizing that the project’s success depends on the beneficiaries’ dedication.

With DAR’s support and KIFSA’s participation, the initiative aims to boost Mabuhay’s economy. It also serves as a model for empowering farmers and developing agricultural enterprises. (RBI/CBT-GIP/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
