Sibugay job fair connects hundreds to job openings

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The recent 24th Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay Job Fair at the provincial capitol welcomed over 500 jobseekers. Of these, 92 were hired on the spot, underscoring the event’s impact on local employment.

Princess Puaque, a resident of Barangay Malagandis in Titay, secured a sales assistant position at a mall and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and the job fair’s role in helping her find employment.

“I am very thankful for this job fair as it has given me the chance to work and support my family,” Puaque said. 

Princess’s success is one of many stories from the job fair, inspiring hope and motivation for other job seekers.

Job seekers explore career opportunities at the 24th Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay Job Fair held at the Provincial Capitol Atrium.

The event was organized by the provincial government in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and other stakeholders, the fair offered 9,789 job vacancies from 28 employers across various industries, including construction, finance, retail, and manufacturing.

Albert Gutib, Regional Director of DOLE Region 9, commended the organizers’ commitment to expanding employment opportunities and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.

“This event reflects their dedication to workforce development. Working together, we help bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, making meaningful employment accessible to everyone,” Gutib said.
