KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) – Five buildings of five stories each, totaling 360 units, will soon rise in Koronadal City, following the recent ground-breaking ceremony and memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing for the implementation of the first “Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino,” or 4PH program for the Soccsksargen region.
The P416 million worth of housing units will be constructed for the West Creek 4PH Village, located in San Antonio Village, Phase 1, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Koronadal City in South Cotabato.
The 4PH is the country’s flagship housing program under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration, implemented by the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), an attached agency of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
“Layunin ng aming departamento sa tulong at koordinasyon ng mga key shelter agencies namin na magtayo ng abot-kayang pabahay para sa miyembro ng informal sector, mga kawani ng pamahalaan, at pati na rin ang Overseas Filipino Workers,” said DHSUD Assistant Secretary Melissa Aradanas.
(Our department’s goal, with the help and coordination of our key shelter agencies, is to be able to build affordable housing for members of the informal sector, government employees, and the Overseas Filipino Workers.)
She added that the groundbreaking ceremony and MOA signing for the West Creek 4PH Village is a testament to the government’s commitment to granting millions of Filipino families a home they can call their own.
The program aims to provide affordable and decent housing units to Filipino families, especially the marginalized sector.
The building’s construction is also in collaboration with the provincial government of South Cotabato, the Pag-IBIG Fund, and the Qonstech Construction Corporation.
Meanwhile, Gov. Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. commended the collaboration of concerned agencies and stakeholders in the program’s implementation in South Cotabato.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation in achieving what’s best for the community.
“So, ang proyektong ito ay hindi lamang simpleng proyekto ng gobyerno kundi proyekto ito na nagpapakita ng pagkakaisa base sa pag-aalign ng direksyon ng lahat ng miyembro ng komunidad mula sa national government agency hanggang sa mga nasa baba,” Tamayo stated.
(This project is not just a government project; it shows unity by aligning directions for all community members, from the national government agency to the local government units and the grassroots.)
The DHSUD regional office in Soccsksargen said they are now accepting applications from qualified individuals “who are employed in government agencies or institutions, private firms or companies, or those who come from the formal and informal sectors.” (SJDM – PIA Region 12)
