LAGAWE, Ifugao(PIA)—Social infrastructure in Ifugao province is focused on the improvement of healthcare facilities, flood control, water system, multipurpose buildings, culture-related infrastructures, and street lights, among others geared towards improving the lives of the people.
Ifugao Provincial Engineer Ericson Mammag shared that 383 projects amounting to P146.4 million were funded in 2022, of which 114 projects were already completed with a total cost of P35.4M while 119 amounting to P38M are ongoing. There are 44 projects costing P18M in the procurement stage and 106 projects amounting to P54.9M are still for programming until the end of the year.
Mammag explained that the social infra projects are intended to improve the condition of the Ifugao people on health when they build health centers and bring the government services nearer to the community. The water system will ensure the sanitation and safe drinking of the community and reduce the morbidity and mortality of water-borne diseases.

He added that the multipurpose building will help senior citizens and persons with disabilities with their activities while the culture-related infrastructures are to promote the Ifugao culture and sports.
It also helps the education sector by providing a sufficient number of classrooms so that learners are not congested.
Meanwhile, Mammag shared that they are closely coordinating with the other offices for the soft opening of the Ifugao General Hospital (IGH) within the year.
The construction of the IGH for its Phase I-IV is already completed while Phases V-VI are already in the advanced stage of completion. The construction of Phase VII funded by the Department of Health worth P50M has also started.
Governor Jerry Dalipog instructed the management of the Provincial Health Office Clinic (old IGH) to start transferring to the second floor of the new IGH in Lumingay, Lagawe while waiting for the issuance of the IGH License to Operate from the DOH. .(JDP/FBR-PIA Ifugao) Photos: PEO- Ifugao
