DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte (PIA) — Major General Donald M. Gumiran, commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and the Joint Task Force Central (JTFC), reminded all military personnel to strictly maintain political neutrality.
“We uphold the utmost importance of political neutrality. Our internal monitoring is stringent to ensure that no personnel will engage in partisanship. Carry out your duty with honor, fairness, and integrity,” Gumiran firmly stated.
On April 28, more than 400 personnel from the headquarters were sent off to form a composite battalion tasked with safeguarding the upcoming May 12, 2025 elections.
Brigadier General Patricio Ruben Amata, deputy division commander of the 6ID, led the send-off ceremony, reminding the troops of their important responsibility relative to the national and local elections.
“As you deploy across various brigades, your role is vital in ensuring that the May 12, 2025 national and local elections are peaceful, orderly, and credible,” Amata told the troops.
“You will be at the forefront of securing an environment where every Filipino in Central Mindanao can exercise their right to vote — freely, without fear, coercion, and with full trust in the electoral process,” he emphasized further.
The send-off ceremony was held at the 6ID Grandstand inside Camp Siongco in Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
According to the 6ID’s Division Public Affairs Office, this deployment supplements earlier reinforcements from the 48th Infantry Battalion, the 1st Armor Company of the Armor Division, and the Marine Battalion Landing Team 6, all of which were mobilized to enhance security measures for the elections.
