QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — South Korea and the City of Muntinlupa are embarking on a collaborative effort to strengthen childcare programs in the country.
The partnership was announced following a courtesy visit on April 16 by representatives of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to Mayor Ruffy Biazon.
The visit coincided with the World Friends Korea (WFK) Team Project Volunteers Program.

Muntinlupa, recently recognized as the first “Volunteerism Local Learning Hub” in the Philippines, was chosen by KOICA for a pilot program.
Mayor Biazon expressed appreciation for KOICA’s selection, highlighting the potential benefits for Muntinlupa’s children.
Under the WFK initiative, KOICA will conduct a feasibility study to identify areas for improvement and support in childcare and development programs across Muntinlupa and potentially beyond.
The joint program will encompass childcare services at Child Development Centers throughout the city.
Additionally, it will involve capacity training and workshops for child development workers, focusing specifically on those working with children in the Early Childhood Education Division (ECED).
KOICA, a South Korean government agency, provides assistance to developing countries.
They offer need-based grants to support local institutions in implementing sustainable, long-term development initiatives that benefit communities. (PIA-NCR)
