Special training for employment program, first step to start a business– TESDA

BOAC, Marinduque (PIA) — The Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) MIMAROPA continues to provide good business in the region.

During the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency, TESDA MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Ben-Hur Baniqued said that the STEP aims to provide free training to young people who want to start a business according to the scholarship program he or she has taken.

Baniqued added that as part of TESDA’s program, the agency will handle the training for a competency course in automotive engine repair and chassis service. After graduating from the course, they will be provided starter kits to be used to start their career.

The graduates, however, can also replace or upgrade the equipment that TESDA provides in the future after succeeding in the entrepreneurship program.

Baniqued said that those interested in taking the said course must be a Filipino citizen, high school graduates,s or 18 years old and above, which includes persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, and indigenous peoples.
