ZAMBOANGA CITY Nov. 14 (PIA) – The local branch of the Social Security System (SSS) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Bureau of Customs and the Philippine Ports Authority Port Management Office in Zamboanga City to provide social security protection to more than 100 job-order (JO) workers through the KaSSSanga Collect program.
According to SSS Executive Vice President Rizaldy Capulong the KASSSangga program is designed to offer JO workers comprehensive social security benefits, which will include sickness benefits, maternity benefits, disability coverage, unemployment assistance, retirement benefits, funeral provisions, and death benefits.
JO workers will also gain access to the various privileges available to SSS members under the program, once they meet the eligibility requirements.

SSS emphasized the importance of the program for JO workers which is to ensure that they receive the necessary protection and assistance, particularly in times of financial hardship like an unexpected job loss especially that they are not eligible to be members of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

SSS President and CEO Rolando Macasaet assures the SSS officials and employees that under his stewardship, the agency will continue to provide better social services to workers and pensioners. Contributions and remittances of stakeholders and employers are strictly monitored by SSS to make sure that they pay it on time.
