CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Social Security System (SSS) Cagayan de Oro-Lapasan Branch showcased the MySSS Pension Booster program and other services by hosting a registration drive on July 15 at Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City.
Formerly known as the Workers’ Investment and Savings Program (WISP), the MySSS Pension Booster is a savings program offering both mandatory and voluntary retirement schemes. It is open to all SSS members with at least one posted contribution, no final benefit claim filed, and those applying for an SSS Number.
MySSS Pension is an affordable savings scheme allowing members to contribute as low as P500 per payment, with a high return on investment targeted at 7.2 percent this year. Contributions and investment earnings under the MySSS Pension Booster for mandatory and voluntary schemes are tax-free.
“This is a one-day registration event conducted simultaneously nationwide to promote the programs and services of SSS, especially the Pension Booster, which is an investment program formerly called WISP or Workers’ Investment and Savings Program,” said SSS CDO-Lapasan Branch Manager Valentine V. Aunzo.
She explained that with the pension booster, members who choose to retire or qualify for retirement can receive an additional benefit on top of their regular pension.
Employed members earning P20,000 or more automatically join the mandatory MySSS Pension Booster. Employers include contributions in their regular SSS remittances. Self-employed, voluntary, and OFW members can sign up for the MySSS Pension Booster through their MySSS accounts.
Over a hundred mall-goers took advantage of the one-day SSS registration hosted by the CDO-Lapasan branch.
Aunzo reminds the public that while the event was a one-day affair, the SSS office at Agora, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City welcomes members and non-members for inquiries and registration, particularly for the Pension Booster program. (JAKA/PIA-10)
