SSS commends credit cooperative in Bontoc

SSS-Bontoc Branch Acting Branch Head Micheal Alain B. Pinlac hands over a certificate of appreciation to the All Saints Credit Cooperative for their good management of employee SSS benefits.

BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA) –The Social Security System (SSS)  commended a credit cooperative in Mountain Province for its exceptional dedication in providing necessary benefits for its employees.

The All Saints Credit Cooperative in Bontoc received a certificate of appreciation from SSS- Bontoc Branch during the Run After Contributions Evaders (RACE) campaign on November 21, 2024.

It  was the only  business  establishment lauded among the ten establishments visited during the RACE. The other establishments were given 15 days to comply and settle their obligations either by installment or Contribution Penalty Condonation or Delinquency Management and Restructuring Program.

Ann Camsawen, manager of All Saints Credit Cooperative,  emphasized the importance of providing employees with the appropriate benefits. This encourages employee retention while acknowledging their long service to the organization .

She said  some of  their  employees have  availed all their SSS benefits after many years of service.

The RACE program serves as a reminder to employers of their legal duties to their  employees, and aims to help them avoid penalties under Republic Act 11199, also known as the Social Security Act of 2018.

Attorney III Warden Domingo from the Legal Department of Luzon North 1 Division explained that the campaign aims to inform business establishments about their violations of SSS regulations including failure to register, report, and submit required records of employees.

With this, employees are legally obligated to report their employers  and pay their contributions regularly to ensure they receive the benefits entitled to them.(JDP/CVBT-PIA CAR, Mountain Province)
