SSS conducts RACE campaign in Bauko

BAUKO, Mountain Province (PIA) — The Social Security System – Bontoc  continues to remind employers of their responsibilities to their employees to  ensure their  protection against the hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death and other contingencies.

Acting Branch Head Michael Alain B. Pinlac  recently led a team in  visiting  seven  establishments in Bauko  municipality and giving notices of violations  during a Run Against Contribution Evaders (RACE) activity.

“This [RACE] is one of the campaign activities of SSS. This time, it is part of the observance of 2024 Labor Day. This is to remind the employers to adhere to their obligations to their staff or employees,” he said.

Pinlac explained that the  RACE is a program of the SSS to remind employers who have problems with their SSS contributions, and ensure that they comply with their  responsibilities  in order that their employees get  the rightful benefits. This is in line with Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018.

Establishments who are given notices of violation during the RACE are given 15 days to  settle their delinquency payments, and correct  other violations such as underreporting of their employee count.

SSS-Bontoc personnel serve   notice  of violation to non-conforming establishments in Bauko, Mountain Province during the  Run Against Contribution Evaders  operation on April 30, 2024.
