SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) — The Social Security System (SSS) reminded the erring employers of their responsibilities to their employees during the recent RACE (Run After Contribution Evaders) operations in Antique.
SSS Acting Head for Visayas West 2 Division Angelo O. Blancaver led the team from the division office and the Antique branch that conducted a RACE operation in Bugasong town, the central part of the province.
Blancaver, during RACE operations, emphasized to employers their responsibility under the Social Security Law or Republic Act 11199, particularly on registering their employees and the remittances of their contributions with corresponding shares from both the employees and employers.
The recent RACE operation in Bugasong is the 11th time it was conducted in Antique to call on non-compliant employers to settle their contribution delinquencies with SSS.
For this visit, six employers were given a notice of violation directing them to see the nearest branch of SSS to settle contributions.
SSS Information Division reported that of the 11 RACE operations, 67 employers were visited and reminded of their obligations to their employees.
SSS Antique manager Phillip M. Lucero said this RACE operation is their way of facilitating the settlement of dues of employers before they reach formal court proceedings.
Lucero noted that failure or refusal to register employees or to deduct contributions from the employees’ salaries and remit the same to SSS are violations of the Law and would entail sanctions.
Bugasong Municipal Mayor John Lloyd Pacete, represented by its information officer Richard Francisco welcomed the team from SSS noting that this move also helped them protect the welfare of their constituents. (AGP/PSM/ LGU Bugasong/PIA Antique)
