IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The Social Security System (SSS) Ipil branch has recently conducted its “Run After Contribution Evaders” (RACE) campaign, targeting non-compliant employers across several municipalities.
Spearheaded by Atty. Jacinto T. Felizarta of the Mindanao West Legal Unit and Marnelli T. Pastorfide, SSS Ipil Branch Manager, the campaign underscores SSS’ commitment to ensuring compliance with contribution requirements, protecting employees’ rights, and promoting the integrity of the social security system.
The RACE campaign aims to ensure that employers meet their legally mandated obligations, thereby safeguarding the social security benefits of employees.
As part of this enforcement effort, the SSS issued show cause orders to 12 establishments, including five in Imelda, one in Siay, four in Kabasalan, and two in Ipil. These orders were directed at various employers, including a pharmacy, who failed to fulfill their contribution responsibilities.
Employers are required to explain their non-compliance, underscoring the agency’s commitment to protecting employees’ rights to social security benefits through stringent enforcement measures.
Felizarta emphasized the importance of compliance and the legal obligation of employers to adhere to SSS contribution requirements without delay.
“To all employers who are not registered or those who are registered but have not remitted or reported their employees, do not wait for us to come to you. Comply because it is required by law,” Felizarta stated.
The RACE campaign reflects SSS’s proactive approach in ensuring that all employers fulfill their statutory duties. By holding non-compliant entities accountable through targeted enforcement actions, SSS aims to promote fairness and integrity in employment practices while protecting the welfare of Filipino workers.
