SSS RACE campaign lessens delinquencies, improves contribution payments

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) – The Social Security System (SSS) Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign has lessened the number of delinquent employers and improved membership contributions in Panay Island.

SSS Visayas West 2 Division information officer Amiel Genova said that based on the latest data from 50 percent, the total number of delinquent employers is down to 40 percent.

“I think these last few months nag-lessen pagid ina kay damo naman aware sa ila sang ila mga obligations through RACE campaign and sa media dissemination,” said Genova.

(I think for the last few months, it became less because many were already aware of their obligations through the RACE campaign and media dissemination.)

Genova said that the campaign is not all about collecting contributions but also spreading awareness of the benefits of the SSS member-employees.

“Dako ni ang effect sa employees nila in a way kay ang contribution entails not only mga current nga mga benefits but we are talking about retirement pension later or kung mag masakit ila empleyado so importante gid nga religiously gina bayaran ang contribution sang ila employees,” he added.

(This has a huge effect on the employees because the contributions entail not only the current benefits but also retirement pensions or if the employees get sick, that is why it is important to pay their employees’ contributions religiously.)

To note, the latest SSS RACE campaign of SSS WV2 and Roxas City branch for October has visited six employers in Roxas City with a total delinquency of P581,268.50, affecting more than 50 employees whose contributions are at stake. (AGP/PLF/ PIA Capiz)
