ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) –The Social Security System said during the last Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operation last Dec. 11 that it will concentrate on non-registered businesses in Western Visayas with the agency next year.
“Ma concentrate naman kita sa wala pa gid nakaparehistro (sa SSS) kay this year ang atun napangkadtuan mostly registered sila pero namimiss nila sa pagbayad ang ila contribution. So nakita natun thru these activities sang atun mga account officers nga damo pa gid ya ang wala kaparehistro,” SSS Visayas West 2 Division head Angelo O. Blancaver said.
(We will concentrate on those who have not yet registered in SSS, as this year, most of the businesses we visited were already registered, but they tend to miss paying their contributions. Through the activities of our account officers, we have observed that many are still unregistered.)
Blancaver also noted that employers or employees can no longer use the excuse of not having an SSS number to avoid registering with the government financial institution.
“Under the law, compulsory gid ang pagregister sa SSS. Ang pagkuha sang SSS number, kahapos lang magkuha sa online, wala sang bayad, and right away makuha mo,” he added.
(Under the law, SSS registration is mandatory, obtaining an SSS number is easy–it can be done online, free of charge, and you can get it right away.)
Further, SSS Roxas City branch head Rene Moises Gonzales said that for 2024, they have conducted 15 RACE operations in the province of Capiz and the fifth district of Iloilo Province, issuing show-cause orders to 89 non-compliant employers with a total contribution delinquency of P8,696,940.88.
Gonzales also added that as of December, four employers have already paid their contribution delinquencies amounting to P1,669,182.14, while five employers availed the installment proposal of the agency.
He explained that the show-cause order reminded establishments of their legal obligations.
The establishments were given 15 days to settle their obligations with SSS otherwise, the due process will proceed, including the filing of lawsuits against those who remain non-compliant. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
