SSS encourages members to use portal for efficient service delivery

ZAMBOANGA CITY (PIA) – The Social Security System (SSS) Zamboanga branch is actively promoting the use of the SSS Portal, an online platform designed to deliver more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly services to members, employers, and pensioners.

The initiative is part of the agency’s efforts to enhance service delivery and streamline transactions for all stakeholders.

SSS Senior Communication Analyst Napoleon Rabanal II provided an overview of the SSS Portal during the recent PIA Kapihan na Zamboanga. He highlighted its role in providing convenient access to essential services such as retirement, sickness, maternity, disability, death, and burial benefits.

Rabanal also emphasized the agency’s commitment to bringing its services closer to underserved communities by integrating E-centers in every barangay, particularly in remote and isolated areas.

“Through E-centers, we’re able to assist all our clients, whether they’re students or from far-flung barangays,” Rabanal shared, underscoring the importance of these facilities in helping beneficiaries, especially those with limited access to technology.

Members and pensioners visit the new SSS branch in Zamboanga City at Citymall, Tetuan.

The collaborative effort between the SSS and local government units ensures the presence of E-centers in barangays. These centers, managed by designated barangay officials, aim to assist individuals with limited digital literacy skills, including senior citizens, providing them with easy access to services without long queues.

Rabanal also clarified the difference between the SSS Portal and the SSS eGov.ph app. While the portal allows members to access and monitor their contributions and avail of services, the eGov.ph app functions as an online wallet for payments.

He further reminded members, particularly senior citizens, to safeguard their personal information to avoid falling victim to online scams. “Always protect your username and password, and update your contact information,” Rabanal stressed, highlighting the importance of cybersecurity in the digital age.

By leveraging digital platforms and localized initiatives, SSS Zamboanga is taking significant steps toward more inclusive and efficient service delivery for its members. (EDT/MLE/DBE-GIP/PIA Region 9-Zamboanga City)
