SSS visits 15 delinquent employers in Pampanga, Bulacan

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Social Security System (SSS)  served notices to 15 delinquent employers in Pampanga and Bulacan during a recent Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operation.

Out of the 15 employers visited in the cities of Mabalacat and San Jose del Monte, 14 failed to remit their employees’ contributions while one remained unregistered.

SSS Luzon Central 2 Division Vice President Gloria Corazon Andrada explained that there are two types of delinquent employers: those who failed to remit contributions on time and those who remain unregistered.

“We employ a monitoring system that identifies employers who are not remitting on time and also coordinates with the Business Permits and Licensing Office of the local government for non-registered employers,” she explained.

With this, Andrada stressed that employers subjected to the operation must comply with the SSS Law in providing social security protection to their employees.

“We want to inform them [employers] that they only have 15 days to coordinate with their assigned account officers and settle delinquencies. We are also here to offer them an option to avail of our condonation program as well as flexible payment terms,” she said.

Delinquent employers can apply for the Contribution Penalty Condonation, Delinquency Management, and Restructuring Program to settle their delinquency in full or installment ranging from 12 to 48 months depending on the amount.

Andrada added that the religious remittance of contributions will assure their employees of benefits from the SSS in times of sickness, maternity, unemployment due to involuntary separation, disability, retirement, and death.

SSS San Jose Del Monte Branch aims to collect P1.3 million from six delinquent employers; while Dau Branch expects to collect P5.7 million from eight employers.

Meanwhile, SSS reminds its members and pensioners to regularly check their records through My.SSS to ensure that their employers are making the right and timely remittance of contributions.

Andrada said they should notify the SSS for any discrepancies or gaps so that necessary measures can be taken.

The state firm likewise urges all members and pensioners to remain vigilant in protecting their records, particularly login credentials, and to never engage with fixers. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
