BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Social Security System (SSS) Luzon North 1 Division is now coordinating with other government agencies, state universities and colleges, and local government units for the conduct of the KaSSSangga Collect Program.
Through the KaSSSangga Collect Program, job orders (JO) and contract of service (COS) workers who are not covered by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will be ensured of their active SSS membership.
This will entitle them to various social security benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral, including short-term loan privileges like salary and calamity loans. They may also receive employees’ compensation benefits for work-related contingencies.

“Ang gagawin sa program, kakaltasan ng agency ang sweldo ng mga job orders and si agency ang magre-remit sa SSS. Kung ang share mo sa SSS ay 800 pesos, 800 pesos po ang maikakaltas. Ang role lang ni agency is to kaltas and remit sa amin sa office,” Rillorta explained.
He added that employees who are covered now by GSIS but are SSS members can pay their contribution through the program.
“Adda dadduma empleyado a maliwayan dan ti agbayad iti kontribusyon da so in this program, whether you like it or else, ma-cover kayon iti SSS.”
[There are other employees who forget to remit their contribution so in this program, whether you like it or else, you will be covered by SSS.]
He advised the JO and COS workers to coordinate with their respective human resource officers who will also coordinate with the SSS for the remittance of contributions.
Rillorta said they have already partnered with the University of the Philippines- Baguio. They are now in talks with the Baguio City LGU, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and other government agencies. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
