Tabak’s new commander reaffirms army’s commitment to peace in Misamis Occidental

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) — Major General Yegor Rey Barroquillo Jr., the newly appointed commander of the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division, along with senior officials from the Philippine Army, visited the provincial government on April 12 to reiterate the Army’s support for peace and order efforts in Misamis Occidental.

Accompanying him were Lieutenant Colonel Nelson Boticario, commander of the 10th Infantry Battalion, and Major Jover Ondoy, director of the 903rd Community Defense Center. The meeting highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the army and the provincial government to ensure the safety and development of the province.

During the visit, Barroquillo assured the provincial government of its continued support in maintaining stability, addressing lawlessness, and securing the province’s progress. He also emphasized the Army’s readiness to back local programs and enhance coordination with the provincial government and communities.

Governor Henry S. Oaminal expressed gratitude for the Army’s role in supporting peace efforts and the province’s development. “Our province has made significant progress due to our strong partnership with the military. We are thankful and committed to supporting our uniformed personnel in their mission to protect our people,” he said.
