In collaboration with Manila Street Astronomers, the event, in line with marking its founding anniversary, will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to peer into the depths of space through telescopes. The event will be from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
“Join the City of Taguig and Manila Street Astronomers for a captivating evening under the stars! Celebrate Taguig’s Founding Anniversary with this unique educational experience,” the local government said on Facebook: I Love Taguig.
Under the guidance of expert astronomers, participants will be amazed by distant stars, planets, and celestial phenomena, gaining a deeper understanding of the universe that surrounds them, free of charge.
The event will also feature a fascinating Meteorite Exhibit, where visitors can learn about the composition, origins, and significance of meteorites in scientific research.
The Lakeshore Area, with its expansive views and minimal light pollution, will provide an ideal setting for stargazing and astronomical observation. Clear skies during the event will enhance the experience, allowing participants to immerse themselves fully in the wonders of the night sky.
While Taguig marks another year of its storied history, events like the “Telescope Viewing and Meteorite Exhibit” serve not only as celebrations of the city’s heritage but also as opportunities for education and inspiration.
By fostering a connection between the community and the cosmos, Taguig continues to enrich the lives of its residents and promote a deeper appreciation for the world beyond their own.
Mayor Lani Cayetano is expected to grace the event, underscoring the city’s commitment to promoting scientific exploration and knowledge-sharing within the community. (PIA-NCR)
