Taguig’s Elderly Filipino Week celebration highlights ‘Gandang Mamita Coronation Night’

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –Elderly Filipino Week celebration in Taguig City was highlighted by the Gandang Mamita Coronation Night on Friday, October 13, at the Taguig Convention Center.

Lina Flores from Barangay Bambang was crowned Gandang Mamita 2023, winning P20,000, a crown, sash, and trophy. She plans to oversee sustainable livelihood programs for senior citizens.

Flores was among the 29 candidates representing various barangays of Taguig, including EMBO barangays.

The runner-ups, who also received prizes, were:

• 1st Runner Up- Socorro Raganit of Brgy. Calzada Tipas

• 2nd Runner Up – Esperanza Cruspero from Brgy. North DaangHari

• 3rd Runner Up – Rosemarie Navalle of Brgy. Napindan

• 4th Runner Up – Evelyn Cabauatan from Brgy. Western Bicutan

Other minor and major awards were also awarded to the outstanding candidates:

• People’s Choice Award – Evelyn Arquizar of Bgry. Upper Bicutan

• Most Photogenic – Marilou Furio from Brgy. Ususan

• Best in Talent – Esperanza Cruspero of Brgy. North DaangHari

• Best in Talent: 1st Runner up – Nenita Camacho from Brgy. Sta Ana

• Best in Production Number – Loida Penalosa from Brgy. Lower Bicutan

• Best in National Costume – Evelyn Cabauatan of Brgy. Western Bicutan
