ZAMBOANGA CITY (PIA) – Tawi-Tawi province is championing the power of collaboration and information to drive progress and opportunities.
Highlighting its transformation into a peaceful and promising destination, the provincial government is calling on stakeholders to work together in improving the dissemination of accurate and inspiring narratives that showcase Tawi-Tawi’s potential.
Through strengthened communication and partnerships, the province aims to empower communities and attract investments, tourism, and development.
Governor Yshmael Sali emphasized the critical role of information in empowering Tawi-Tawi’s residents and bridging the gap between government services and the people they serve.

To further understand and improve the reach of government communication, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) recently conducted an Information Needs Survey in the province.
The survey aims to identify how effectively government information and services are delivered to Tawi-Tawi, especially considering its remote location as the southernmost province in the Philippines.
Governor Sali stressed the importance of enhancing communication channels to ensure that essential programs and services reach even the most isolated communities.
“Access to accurate information is vital for our people to fully benefit from government services,” he said, calling for stronger partnerships to bridge communication gaps.
Governor Sali also highlighted the province’s emerging role as a tourism and investment destination, shedding the outdated narrative of conflict and instability.
Visits from high-ranking foreign dignitaries, including ambassadors from the European Union, Belgium, Germany, and France, underscore the international community’s growing interest in Tawi-Tawi’s potential.
“Our province is no longer defined by misconceptions but by its reality as a promising and worthwhile destination,” Governor Sali said.
Moreover, in a courtesy visit of PIA together with representatives of the Interpol, the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime to the provincial government, Governor Sali warmly welcomed the visitors, emphasizing that their presence brings opportunities and spreads positive narratives about the province.
“When you come, you bring opportunities. When you leave, you take home good stories to inspire others to visit,” he said. (EDT/MLE/PIA Region 9-Zamboanga City)
