CAMIGUIN (PIA) — Continuously providing quality technical and vocational education and training, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Camiguin Provincial Office conducted a Training Induction Program (TIP) on December 5 at the Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT), officially launching its latest training initiatives under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) for Driving NC II and Construction Painting NC II.
A total of 39 participants from across the province attended the induction, comprising 25 enrollees for Construction Painting NC II and 14 for Driving NC II.

“Sa TESDA kasi ang focus natin dito ay talagang actual na training. Although tayo ay may mga studies sa loob ng ating mga classroom, pero ang laging tatandaan, ‘yung skills ninyo ang kailangan dito. Kaya nga skills and development,” said TESDA Camiguin Provincial Director Mohaisen Manalao, highlighting the importance of skill acquisition in boosting employability and economic growth.
(At TESDA, our focus is really on hands-on training. While we also have studies inside the classroom, always remember that what matters here are your skills. That’s why it’s called skills and development.)
The event also saw active participation from key TESDA personnel, including Supervising TESD Specialist Erna Amores and Administrative Assistant Ruelyn Bulawin, who provided valuable insights to the participants. The team at CSAT, led by Vocational School Administrator Karol Sanggomay Ranalan, played a pivotal role in organizing the event and ensuring its success.

Participants of the Construction Painting NC II program will gain proficiency in surface preparation, paint application, and finishing techniques, equipping them with the skills needed in the construction industry. Meanwhile, those in the Driving NC II program will learn essential driving competencies, vehicle maintenance, and road safety measures, addressing the growing demand for skilled drivers.
“Sa amin sa provincial office, hindi kami nagsasawang maghanap ng mga pwede pang maidagdag sa aming programa, at hindi kami magsasawa na maghanap ng iba pang pwedeng makadagdag sa mga programa at ma-solve namin kung anuman ang kinakailangan ng mga tao from Camiguin,” Manalao said.
(At our provincial office, we never tire of looking for ways to enhance our programs, and we will continue to seek additional initiatives that can strengthen our programs and address the needs of the people of Camiguin.)
He said TESDA’s scholarship programs make technical education more accessible, helping individuals contribute to community and national progress, with TESDA Camiguin committed to changing lives through skills and innovation. (RTP/PIA-10/Camiguin)
