CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 2 and Dinapigue Mining Corporation (DMC) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to implement skills training for local miners.
The agreement was formalized by TESDA Region 2 Director Toni June Tamayo, TESDA Provincial Director Vilma Cabrera, and DMC Vice President for Human Resources Ma. Fatima C. Mijares.
Tamayo stated that the initiative aims to uplift the local workforce through targeted Community-Based Training (CBT) programs and provide skill development opportunities for residents in the coastal town of Dinapigue.
“Our collaboration with DMC is designed to enhance the technical education and skills development of workers in the mining industry, ensuring their employability,” Tamayo said.
He noted that this collaboration represents a significant step towards empowering DMC employees and the local community by equipping them with the skills necessary for contributing to sustainable national development.
“This initiative is part of TESDA’s CBT program, which seeks to address the evolving needs of society by providing individuals with relevant skills essential for personal and community growth,” Tamayo added.
